Classic cautionary edible tale. My friend made brownies and I figured "how strong can a brownie be?" Very strong, as it turns out.
T+0:00 - Ate a whole brownie. My friend suggested I eat half. I did not listen.
T+1:00 - Nothing happening. "These don't work," I told my friend. They gave me a knowing look.
T+1:30 - Oh. Oh no. It hit all at once. My heart started racing (or at least it felt that way). The room felt like it was tilting. Every sound was amplified.
T+2:00 - Full panic mode. I was convinced something was seriously wrong with me. My friend calmly reassured me this is normal, gave me water, and put on Planet Earth.
T+2:30 - The panic subsided as I accepted what was happening. Suddenly everything was hilarious. We watched penguins waddle around and I laughed until my stomach hurt.
T+3:00 - Became absolutely fascinated by the texture of a blanket. Then demolised an entire bag of chips. Then another.
T+5:00 - Getting sleepy. Drifted off on the couch.
T+10:00 - Still felt slightly off the next morning. Heavy, foggy.
Lessons: always start with 5-10mg for edibles. Wait at least 2 hours before deciding "it's not working." Have a trusted person with you. And if you panic, remember: nobody has ever died from this. You just need to ride it out.
