SubstanceWiki ("substancewiki.org", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
SubstanceWiki is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not require user accounts, do not use tracking cookies by default, and do not store any personally identifiable information.
What we collect (anonymous analytics only):
What we do not collect:
SubstanceWiki does not set any cookies by default. We do not use cookie-based tracking, advertising pixels, or social media trackers. A theme preference may be stored in your browser's local storage to remember your light/dark mode choice, but this data never leaves your device.
We use the following third-party services:
Plausible Analytics
A privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully GDPR compliant. All data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual visitors.
Anthropic (AI Research Assistant)
Our AI-powered research assistant uses the Anthropic API. Questions submitted to the research assistant are processed by Anthropic's servers. We do not log or store your questions. Please review Anthropic's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data is retained indefinitely to help us understand traffic patterns and improve the site. This data cannot be linked to any individual.
Because we do not collect or store personal data, most data subject rights (access, rectification, deletion, portability) are not applicable. However, you still have the right to:
GDPR (European Union): SubstanceWiki is designed to be GDPR compliant by default. We do not process personal data, do not use tracking cookies, and our analytics provider (Plausible) is EU-hosted and fully GDPR compliant. No consent banner is required because no personal data is collected.
CCPA (California, United States): We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Since we do not collect personal information, the rights to know, delete, and opt-out under the CCPA are inherently satisfied.
