Used 1mg etizolam for a 2-week period during severe work stress. At this dose it's functionally identical to a low-dose benzodiazepine — subtle anxiolysis without significant sedation or impairment.
The onset is rapid (~20 minutes) with clean anxiety relief. Unlike alprazolam, I found it less sedating and more 'clear-headed.' Muscle relaxation was noticeable. I could work normally, attend meetings, and function without anyone noticing.
I was very careful about duration — two weeks, then a careful taper over 5 days. Even at this short duration I noticed mild rebound anxiety on discontinuation.
Etizolam is effective but carries all the risks of benzodiazepines plus the additional risk of inconsistent dosing in unregulated markets. If you're going to use thienodiazepines, volumetric dosing with verified standards is essential.
