DISCLAIMER
This is my personal opinion on this chemical. Obviously everyone has their preferences, but from my experience this is best the chemical I've ever researched.
T+0:00 - A friend and I decide to dose ~20mg 4-HO-MET (my scale is off by +/- 5mg so it could've been 15-25mg). My friend is already pretty stoned because he ate an edible a little bit prior. I'm completely sober.
T+0:45 - My friend starts to get the giggles and starts to notice things shifting slightly in his peripheral vision. I'm not noticing anything except a minor body high.
T+1:00 - My friend starts to notice more visuals and we both become extremely giggly at this point. Everything is hilarious and we stop playing video games because it's too hard to focus. I'm still not seeing any visuals and frustrated with the fact, I decided to smoke a little weed.
T+1:30 - My friend is getting full blown visuals at this point. The ceiling is moving and the grain pattern in the wood on my desk is described as "melting in to itself." I'm experiencing a green tint to the edge of objects and everything seems to have a red or green glow to it. Everything has a color. Straight edges appear slightly rounded, like they're bulging towards me. Not extreme but definitely noticeable distortion. At this point I put on some Tool.
T+2:00 - I start getting really nice colorful visuals. Not a lot of morphing but everything has a color, like a rainbow is overlaid on everything. I'm noticing detailed patterns but unlike LSD, they seem to be a part of the object they appear on. At this point my friend is crying from laughing so hard and says that my one eye is smaller than the other and every time he looks at me he loses his shit. I'm disappointed in the lack of morphing and/or moving in the visuals but the color and patterns make up for it. We both feel nothing but pure joy at this point.
T+2:30 - My friend is getting crazy intense visuals and I'm still seeing mostly just colors and patterns. I take a 5mg booster dose (insufflated) and smoke some more weed to increase my visuals. I decide to paint but get distracted half way by the fascinating patterns I'm seeing in the canvas. We're both still laughing about basically nothing because everything is hilarious and we're both just so happy.
T+3:00 - My friend leaves at this point and we've both started to come down. Colors are still incredibly bright and vivid and patterns are still embedded in everything I look at. I'm moderately disappointed in my lack of intense visuals but the lack of head space allows me to push for a much higher dose next time. The social aspect of this chemical is absolutely fantastic. I felt nothing but joy and laughter the entire time. My head felt clear and there wasn't a noticeable body high either. For some people, this might be lackluster for a psychedelic, but for me this is an absolutely fantastic chemical for recreational purposes.
T+8:00 - Somehow still seeing patterns which is interesting considering the max length suggested on PsychonautWiki is 6 hours. I take 2mg Etizolam to kill the trip and it knocks me right out and I fall asleep.
Notes
Although I didn't get as intense of visuals as my friend, it was a fantastic experience. The lack of head space will allow me to take a larger dose next time and hopefully experience some of what my friend was experiencing. The colors are absolutely brilliant. Everything has a red or green glow to it and it's really beautiful to look at basically anything. The giggles are incredible and I would highly recommend anyone do this with a friend/friends. You'll have a blast.
As far as CEVs go, I don't get CEVs on any psychedelic so I can't comment on them.
The lack of a body high (for the most part) was very nice too. I never felt uncomfortable and it made enjoying the visual show that much easier.
Sound distortion is completely unique compared to what I've gotten with lysergamides such as LSD, AL-LAD and 1P-LSD. This may be because this was my first tryptamine, but I really enjoyed how you didn't really get an hallucinations, but pitch sometimes lowered and slowed and the way you experienced the music was really interesting (although not nearly on the level of LSD).
