Just a word of caution. Ashwagandha may not be for you if you are pre-disposed to hyperthyroidism or have significant allergies. I had been supplementing for a couple of months and although I have never been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, my father has it. I also have several plant allergies, including ragweed and various trees.
Recently I started struggling with dry eyes, increased allergy symptoms, and what felt like thyroid-related effects. Ashwagandha is a member of the nightshade family, and if you have sensitivities to nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant), you may react to ashwagandha as well.
The anti-anxiety effects were genuinely impressive while they lasted. But for a subset of people, particularly those with autoimmune tendencies, thyroid issues, or strong plant allergies, ashwagandha may cause more problems than it solves. Listen to your body and get bloodwork if anything feels off.
