I was pretty excited to try 2M2B after reading a recent report about it being a longer lasting, possibly more euphoric alcohol alternative with little to no liver toxicity. I mixed 4ml with water into a shot glass and noticed it did not mix right away — it requires stirring. With some juice as a chaser, I took it like a shot of hard liquor.
The taste was almost exactly like taking a shot of really strong liquor except with a slightly minty or camphor-like quality. Within 30 seconds I was feeling it come on really strong, which was unsettling as it was getting intense fast — similar to the way salvia or nitrous might hit you. This leveled out after a few minutes, leaving a nice drunken feeling similar to ethanol but heavier, more sedating, and in my opinion less euphoric.
After about an hour, I realized the effects were not that intense and had leveled off around the twenty minute mark. I decided to redose with 2ml at the one hour mark. I felt pretty great but at some point got really sedated and fell asleep. After waking up, I did not feel drunk anymore. Let me emphasize: delusions of sobriety are very real with this substance.
I continued to redose throughout the evening — 3ml at around 10:15pm and another 2.5ml about 40 minutes later. At this point I was feeling pretty good. However, I do not remember anything past this point even though I did not feel like I blacked out at the time. Over the next 3 hours I apparently dosed another 15ml, dosing every 30 minutes. This is a cautionary example of how the delusions of sobriety can lead to significantly overdoing it.
