Decided to explore 4-HO-MiPT after several experiences with 4-HO-MET. I weighed out 22mg and took it in a capsule on a light stomach around 8pm.
Onset was faster than I expected — within 25 minutes I was already noticing significant visual activity. By 40 minutes I was deeply in it. The visuals were distinctly different from 4-HO-MET. Where MET gives me bright, playful fractals and color enhancement, MiPT presented something more ornate and dark. Gothic arches, intricate organic patterns that looked like living stained glass windows, and color palettes leaning toward deep purples, emeralds, and golds.
The body load was notably heavier. Waves of warmth alternating with chills, some nausea during the come-up that resolved after about 30 minutes. Music sounded incredible — there was an emotional depth to the auditory enhancement that surpassed what I get from MET.
The headspace was significantly deeper and more introspective. I found myself contemplating relationships, career choices, and existential questions with a clarity that felt important. Some of these thoughts had a melancholic quality but never became overwhelming.
Peak lasted about 3 hours, total duration was around 6 hours. The afterglow the next morning was warm and reflective. I would rate this as a more 'serious' psychedelic than 4-HO-MET — equally valuable but serving a different purpose.
