I had experimented with DXM many times over, and had previous experience with psilocybin at high doses, and being a somewhat psychonaut, I was intrigued when I learnt about this substance called Diphenhydramine. I researched heavily and decided that 400 mg would be enough to make me trip, so I went to the store and picked up a bottle of Benadryl (25mg) tablets, and decided to ingest 16 of them. After I finished, I laid down on the bed and watched some YouTube, and just waited for it to kick in.
About an hour and a half after digesting the tablets, I began to feel like my body was sinking. I was sure that the DPH was starting to work, so I decided to go for a walk outside (sounds dumb but it wasn’t at the moment) just as it was getting dark out.
By this time about 2 and a half hours had past. My body was very heavy and I could hear whispers and footsteps. No major visuals at this time, just the odd thing flying past my field of view. I was disappointed, since I had heard all these stories of hallucinations. I decided I would just wait and see. Continuing on my walk, I followed down a nearby alley. It was very dark, and I could swear I was seeing things peaking out from behind the trees and cars. Not super scary, just weird. The auditory hallucinations were very persistent, and I would often hear many voices.
At this time I was very fatigued, and very high. Things would twitch and bend at random, and I would feel things on my shoulders. The hallucinations were so random it’s hard to explain. I had a conversation with my girlfriend for a bit until I remembered she wasn’t with me, only to have her disappear in front of my eyes. This startled me, so I walked back to my place, taking a lot longer than usual, as it was very hard to walk. I got into bed and the room was dimly lit. It almost felt as if the textures were falling off the walls, only to return back to their original place. Another hour passes, and I’m ready to sleep it off, when something catches my eye on the wall. Two giant cockroaches made of crystal began to make their way down the wall. I was blown away by just how real they actually look. It’s like nothing else.
To wrap this report up, I had an interesting time, aside from the restless legs I got the next day, and the inability to remember anything for a little bit. All and all It was nothing like I expected. Not recommended for the light hearted or inexperienced tripper, but I believe everyone should experience a deliriant like DPH at least once. Thanks for reading.
