I packed a small amount of 10x extract into my water pipe and took one full hit, holding it for about 25 seconds. Within 10 seconds of exhaling, reality folded in on itself. I became a page in an enormous book — not metaphorically, literally. I was flat, two-dimensional, and I could feel other pages pressing against me from both sides. The book was being turned by some vast, indifferent force, and each page was a different life, a different reality. I had no memory of being a person. The concept of "me" was completely absent.
This lasted maybe 3 minutes but felt like it could have been hours. The return was abrupt and disorienting. One moment I was a page, the next I was sitting on my bed, sweating, confused, and profoundly shaken. My sitter said I had been still the entire time, just staring. Within 15 minutes I felt completely sober, but the memory of what happened stuck with me for days. It was not fun, but it was one of the most genuinely alien experiences of my life. Nothing else I have tried comes close to the sheer ontological strangeness of salvia.
