I have been vaping Delta-8 daily for about 13 months and I want to give an honest account of what long-term daily use actually looks like, because most reports focus on single experiences.
Month 1-2: Incredible. Three to four puffs in the evening produced a lovely, clear-headed relaxation. Appetite improved. Sleep improved. Social anxiety decreased noticeably. I started using it after work as a ritual, replacing the glass of wine I used to have.
Month 3-4: Tolerance building. Four puffs became six, then eight. The same cartridge that lasted two weeks now lasted five days. The effects were still pleasant but required more to achieve. I added a morning session "just to take the edge off."
Month 5-8: Full-time daily user. Morning, after work, bedtime. My usage roughly tripled from where I started. The euphoria was mostly gone — replaced by a comfortable numbness that felt normal. Without it, I felt irritable, had difficulty concentrating, and my appetite cratered.
Month 9-12: Maintenance phase. I vape because not vaping feels bad, not because vaping feels good. The positive effects have been largely replaced by withdrawal avoidance. If I go more than 6-8 hours without vaping, I get: irritability, insomnia, vivid dreams, decreased appetite, a general sense of things being slightly wrong.
Month 13 (current): Attempting to cut back. Reduced to evening use only. The first week was rough — insomnia, irritability, sweating at night. By week two it stabilized. Planning to take a full tolerance break soon.
The substance itself is not dangerous. But the marketing narrative of "it is not addictive, it is just Delta-8" is misleading. Any CB1 agonist used daily will produce dependence. The withdrawal is mild compared to alcohol or opioids — no one is going to the ER for D8 withdrawal — but it is real, it is uncomfortable, and it is worth knowing about before you start a daily habit.
