I've taken morphine both by itself, with alcohol, and with alcohol and Klonopin. Every time my friend or I took it, while feeling general painkiller bliss throughout, we would have horrible nightmares that night. I've heard the same from other friends.
Specifically, on the alcohol, morphine, and Klonopin, I stayed awake for six hours after ingesting the morphine, five after the alcohol, and eight after the Klonopin. When I got back home and laid in bed, I was paralyzed, much like sleep paralysis. Images would come to my mind at random - rather frightening images - even though I was not asleep yet. These images- of random people I didn't know, and grotesque in fashion- I could not control. It was like being under assault. I would hear noises like someone was dragging bags of tin cans down my street, but it was five in the morning and no one was outside. I finally dragged myself to the computer and had a friend talk to me and give me advice - eating chocolate actually helped a bit. I think he mentioned it elevated blood pressure. It was the only night I honestly thought I was going to die, not from pain but just because so much of my mind seemed out of my control.
While just on the morphine, sleep would come naturally, but I would have horrible nightmares with a high degree of realism. The type that stay with me through the next day.
So while the morphine bliss in general made up for the nightmares afterwards, I would just be aware that they're most definitely a possibility, seeing as I've heard multiple friends and acquaintances mention it when just the topic of morphine was brought up - even without the nightmare question prompt.
Klonopin I had perscribed to me, but I've seen another friend have troubles with it as well.anything, and be wary of when you are taking it. -->
