Never tried any form of cannabis before. I am a 26-year-old graduate student. My friend uses Delta-8 vape cartridges and offered to let me try. I was nervous about the paranoia and anxiety stories I had heard about weed.
T+0:00 — Took two small puffs from the vape. Held each for about 3 seconds. The vapor was smooth, faintly sweet.
T+0:03 — Already feeling something. A lightness behind my eyes, like the very beginning of a headrush that does not go away. Not unpleasant.
T+0:10 — Took two more puffs at my friend's suggestion. Within a few minutes the effects solidified. There is a warmth in my body, a looseness in my muscles. My friend said something funny and I laughed harder and longer than the joke warranted. Everything feels slightly amusing.
T+0:20 — Peak effects. I feel relaxed, happy, and present. My thoughts are clear — I can still think in complete sentences and carry on a normal conversation. There is no racing, no paranoia, no confusion. I just feel good. It is like the feeling of lying down in a warm bed after a long day, except I am standing on a balcony having a conversation.
T+0:30 — We went inside and ordered food. I ate an entire pizza by myself, which I would normally never do. Everything tasted incredible. We watched a comedy special and I was fully engaged — no spacing out or losing the thread.
T+1:30 — Effects beginning to fade. A gentle slide back to normal. Slight tiredness.
T+2:30 — Essentially back to baseline. No hangover, no grogginess.
Verdict: I understand why people like this. It is genuinely pleasant without being overwhelming. I did not feel impaired in a way that concerned me. If this is the mild version, I am not sure I need to try the strong version.
