Third psychedelic day in a row. Tolerance from tachyphylaxis reduced intensity. Quality 4/5. Pregabalin 300mg taken about 3 hours after LSD, black pepper / piperine during the comedown, one beer.
Key Discovery: Piperine as an LSD Potentiator
Black pepper (piperine) taken during the comedown visibly intensified the trip: visuals and body high returned noticeably stronger. Mechanism: piperine inhibits CYP3A4, the liver enzyme that metabolizes LSD, extending the active compound in the bloodstream. Genuinely underreported potentiator worth documenting.
Pregabalin as a Narrative CEV Enhancer
Pregabalin smoothed the anxious edge without killing the trip. More importantly: closed eye visuals were notably more lifelike and narrative than usual, attributed to pregabalin reducing cortical noise while leaving hippocampal narrative processing intact.
Instead of geometric abstractions, scenes played out like memories: a road, a bus, Polish countryside scrolling past as if cycling through it in first person. Pregabalin appears to function as a narrative enhancer for CEV, an underreported observation.
CEV Mechanics: New Observations
Why is it so hard to not keep track of CEV? With closed eyes, whenever we see and concentrate on some visual, our natural instinct is to open our eyes even slightly, a reflex faster than conscious control. Solution: actively squeezing the eyes shut blocks external signals. Paradox: deep CEV require both darkness and PFC disengagement simultaneously, which is difficult to maintain with active physical effort.
NSDR + Buteyko + eye muscle relaxation: The combination of non-sleep deep rest, Buteyko breathing, and deliberate relaxation of the muscles around the eyeballs produced noticeably stronger visuals upon opening the eyes. Optimal method for accessing CEV without active squinting effort.
Proprioceptive hand visibility: With eyes fully blocked, own hand was visible through closed lids: not as an optical image but as a proprioceptive representation made quasi-visual by 5-HT2A activation in the parietal cortex. Appeared frame-by-frame and black (no color in proprioceptive mapping). Culturally learned gestures (middle finger, thumbs up) were invisible; only evolutionary natural hand movements were represented. The brain appears to access subcortical motor templates rather than learned PFC-stored gestures.
Repeating frames, prehistoric motor patterns: Several dozen frames repeated cyclically: own body in poses resembling a homo erectus throwing an object or calling for help. Random hand movements during the experiment matched these recurring frames, suggesting the same subcortical motor system generated both. LSD appears to surface the deepest evolutionary motor templates stored in the cerebellum and basal ganglia.
Visuals
On white walls and with closed eyes, frame by frame images of own face and hands in various positions. Some frames appeared to be screaming. Orange color associated with hellfire, a recurring OCD/BDD pattern manifesting visually. Passed without intervention. Later in the trip I saw hallucinations of my own face and body in the corners of my eyes almost everywhere, even with eyes open.
Focusing on any object with few details gave the same visuals as CEV. Examples: white wall, sky, computer screen with an empty doc open.
Ego dissolution: Near-controlled with eyes closed: a spacetime tunnel similar to ketamine, described as 'amusement park through dimensions.' Music caused a physical sensation of the body gliding and changing direction with the rhythm.
Coffee synesthesia: Coffee visibly shifted color perception toward brown tones, possibly synesthesia between taste and visual processing activated by LSD's lowered sensory boundaries.
Cannabis synesthesia: Basically a microdose of cannabis gave a green hue to my whole optical field.
Basic question: Subconscious associations with the color of the plants, or do coffee and cannabis impact the 'brown' and 'green' receptors respectively?
Time Perception
Hours 0-12: time passed quickly despite enjoying the experience (unusual for LSD, possibly a pregabalin or piperine effect). Hour 12 onwards: time dilated pleasantly. Time distortion and music enhancement took over in the comedown as body high and visuals faded, a pattern observed across multiple previous trips.
Post-trip visual amplification after exercise: Brief training (19 diamond push-ups with 10kg, up from a previous 17) caused ephemeral intensification of visuals immediately after. Heart rate and blood pressure increase temporarily elevated perfusion to the already-sensitized visual cortex.
Comedown
Smooth. Appetite returned. Parents unaware throughout; masking intact after 18 trips.
Learning in comedown: Cognitive ease during comedown comparable to a moderate amphetamine dose: effortless focus and information retention without stimulant anxiety. Likely related to the BDNF neuroplasticity window post-LSD combined with DA rebound.
Socializing in the comedown, 16 hour+: I, at least to me, also retrospectively, seem extremely funny and charismatic. Despite some faux pas caused by psychedelic retardedness, people seem to laugh and enjoy my presence unusually well.
Heart Rate
Peaked at 113 BPM after light physical activity, settled gradually to 80 BPM at rest.
Main Observation
Sensitive young man archetype confirmed again: when protective mechanisms are down, access to genuine emotion, perception depth, and social openness returns. The numbness is adaptation, not personality.
Overall
Not the strongest trip due to tolerance but it yielded solid observations. The quality raised from the bottom 7 of my trips to the top 7, probably, in terms of euphoria. Possibly top 3 most interesting ones though. Piperine as a CYP3A4 inhibitor and pregabalin as a narrative CEV enhancer are the two most notable findings. CEV mechanics (proprioceptive hand visibility and prehistoric motor templates) are genuinely original observations worth further investigation.
