The comedown or offset period of many substances, including MDMA and stimulants, is also a common trigger as neurotransmitter depletion creates a rebound effect.

Managing substance-induced anxiety typically involves changing one's environment, practicing breathing exercises, and reassurance from trusted companions. It is important to recognize that substance-induced anxiety, while deeply unpleasant, is temporary and will subside as the substance's effects wear off.
